signs of hypocrites are seven

As
transmitted from the Best of Creation

If
they speak, they aren’t true; and fail their promises

If
trusted, they cheat and harm

They
pray [Asr] when the sun is setting

And
they hate those to assist and support the Prophet

They
leave going to Friday prayer three
times,

And if you argue with them they are rude.

And your Lord grants you protection and you can’t be let down

O Messenger of Allah, I come to you as a guest
And the rights of guests are known to those noble

I come to you indigent and needy
With a soul possessing only tremendous sins

A stranger who has come from a strange land
Without any companions or partners

Tunisia’s religious affairs minister has criticized Muslim women’s practice of wearing head scarves, saying it does not fit with the North African country’s cultural heritage.

rejects Muslim tunics like those worn in Persian Gulf states and the
practice of men wearing long beards.

“It’s
regrettable that we don’t respect our specificity,” he was
quoted as saying in Assabah newspaper on Wednesday. He said the head
scarf is “foreign” and “an intrusion,” and
recommended a traditional Tunisian Islamic tunic known as the jebbah.

Very beautiful. The introduction is by Sidi Abdul-Rehman Malik. Someone from Chicago confused me for him at the mosque here in Kharabsheh (Amman) a few nights ago.

  Long before “traditional” sacred sciences captured the imagination of a generation, imam Siraj was inspiring people to know themselves through the profound simplicity of Islam.

        Few—(if any)—servants of sacred knowledge have the right to be called ‘imam’ in our day. Siraj Wahhaj is an imam in charity; an imam of bridge building between people; an imam in the way that he is a visionary; in the way that he is
a man.

        Siraj Wahhaj paved the road for all of us to build on. He has always encouraged people to strive for a higher level of competence. All of that will, we pray, sprout into eternal fruits of radiance for him wherever he is. Siraj Wahhaj is the voice of the spirit of Islam in America and its pride.
